Crowley County Nursing Center is a full service, thirty-five bed extended care
facility nestled on the rolling plains of Southeastern Colorado, in the small town of Ordway, about 50 miles
east of Pueblo. We are an independent, non-profit healthcare facility managed by a community board of
directors who are actively involved with the overall well-being of our residents. We provide 24-hour licensed
healthcare services, physician services, physical and occupational therapy, and a broad range of activities
to ensure that our residents receive the quality care they deserve. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and private pay,
and our professional staff will assist you with determining which method of payment is right for you.
As long term providers we are focused on providing the highest level
of care for our residents. We make regular trips to
La Junta and Pueblo for doctor visits, and several physicians visit our residents at the facility. The nursing
staff has an average of over six years with our facility and knows our residents on a personal basis. Our open
door policy encourages residents and families to discuss their concerns and help us deliver a consistent level
of professional service.
A certified dietary manager, cooks and aids staff the dietary department of
Crowley County Nursing Center. They serve three nutritious and delicious meals daily and provide snacks and
doctor-ordered nourishments between meals and before bedtime.
Our activities calendar is always full, whether it is
exercise classes, outings, bingo, movies, or a wealth of other fun things to do. Day trips for shopping or
attending various parades and local fairs, summer patio barbecues and holiday dinners with all the trimmings
are just part of the fun. Our residents may spend their day visiting with
friends in our lounge area complete with fireplace and bird apiary, taking part in a bingo game, watching a
favorite show on our big screen television in the activities room, e-mailing loved ones at the computer center
or reading a selection from our in-house library. A particular favorite of our residents is the monthly resident
dinner, which they can help plan and prepare. Some of our residents interact with children from the local
second-grade class and help them learn to read. Our ladies always enjoy getting a manicure from one of our
staff or visiting the in-house beauty shop to get the full treatment from a local operator. Church services
are offered weekly in our chapel by a variety of our local clergy. Karaoke, dominoes and rides in the country
are favorite activities as well. There is always something fun to do at Crowley County Nursing Center.
Crowley County Nursing Center is pleased to have a large group of dedicated
volunteers from Ordway and the surrounding communities who spend time at our center assisting with activities
and entertainment. Local singers both young and old perform in the lobby, young children from the neighboring
daycare, Kids' Campus, visit the "grandparents" regularly, and the annual parade includes our driveway on its
route.
The onsite workout facility features professional exercise equipment, stationary bicycles, treadmills,
free-weights, and a host of other equipment. This facility is also open for the public to become members
for a nominal monthly fee.
Our mission is to provide quality health care that is consistent with the
physical, spiritual and social needs of each individual. Our first priority is to serve our residents, their
families and the community with excellent healthcare services. We consider our motivated, loyal and committed
staff to be an important asset to our organization, and believe that providing quality care is the
responsibility of all of us. If you have any questions about Crowley County Nursing Center, or would like
